Manchester United is actively exploring potential January transfer targets to address their pressing need for a striker, as reported by The Mirror. With a disappointing goal-scoring record this season, the club recognizes the urgency of bolstering their attacking lineup.
Having only scored 13 goals in 12 Premier League matches, United’s current tally ranks amongst the fourth lowest in the division. Strikers Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, and Joshua Zirkzee have all faced challenges in maintaining consistent form. In light of these struggles, the club is eyeing several promising options to enhance their attacking prowess.
Among the identified targets is Victor Osimhen, who has been in fine form while on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, having already scored eight goals in 10 appearances this season. Although a permanent move was not feasible in the past due to financial constraints, Osimhen now comes with a £63 million release clause for 2025.
Omar Marmoush has also captured United’s attention with his impressive goal-scoring record of 11 goals in as many games for Eintracht Frankfurt. The Egyptian forward’s recent performances could warrant a price tag of around £50 million.
Further options include Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain and Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. Kolo Muani, who has found playing time limited at PSG, might be available for loan despite his hefty £77 million transfer fee just a year ago. United is carefully weighing these alternatives as they aim to strengthen their attacking options for the remainder of the season.
