🚨 Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle set to battle for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo in January transfer window.

Arsenal and Newcastle go head-to-head for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo

Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo is attracting interest from Arsenal and Newcastle after impressive performances in the Premier League. Brentford are demanding £40m for the player, with a January move possible.

Brentford’s Cameroon striker Bryan Mbeumo is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs after his impressive form this season. Mbeumo, 25, has scored eight goals in 12 Premier League games, helping Brentford maintain a mid-table position.

He joined Brentford from French club Troyes in 2019 for around £5m and has established himself as one of the club’s key players, having previously had 44 direct goal contributions in two seasons in the Championship, helping Brentford secure promotion to the Premier League in 2021.

Mbeumo is targeted by many big clubs.

After Brentford’s key man Ivan Toney moved to Al-Ahli in the summer, Mbeumo stepped into the limelight and became an important part of manager Thomas Frank’s squad. The move has given Mbeumo the chance to show his ability, especially in recent games, where he has scored five goals in his last six games. Mbeumo’s remarkable progress this season has made him a target for big clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Newcastle United.

According to reports from CaughtOffside, both Arsenal and Newcastle are interested in signing Mbeumo in the upcoming winter transfer window. However, it can be seen that Mbeumo joining Arsenal will not be easy, when the team already has Bukayo Saka as an irreplaceable star.

Finding a back-up for Saka is necessary, but Mbeumo will struggle to get a starting spot in a team as strong in attack as Arsenal. Meanwhile, Newcastle may have to consider selling one of their key players such as Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes or Anthony Gordon to balance their finances if they want to sign Mbeumo.
