Manchester United are reportedly set to fight Liverpool for a £90 million winger to replace Antony as Amorim seeks to sign ‘special talent’

Ruben Amorim, Manchester United’s incoming manager, is reportedly considering a major move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is also a target for Liverpool.

Amorim has been formally appointed as Erik ten Hag’s successor, and he will take charge of the Red Devils after this month’s international break.

The 39-year-old coach has already begun discussing his transfer plans with Manchester United’s board, and one of his top priorities is to recruit a new winger.Manchester United is expected to compete with Liverpool for a £90 million-rated winger, as Amorim seeks the recruitment of’special talent’.

According to CaughtOffside, Amorim is looking for a’special talent’ who can ‘light up Old Trafford’ and has identified Kvaratskhelia as a possible option.

Napoli have supposedly set a £90 million price tag on the Georgian international’s head, but this has not deterred Amorim, who ‘wants him to replace Man Utd catastrophe, Antony.’It might be a group of one, a group of two, a group of three, or a group of four.

Kvaratskhelia, 23, is under contract with Napoli until 2027, and Antonio Conte’s team is ready to sign him to a new long-term deal.

However, those negotiations are currently at a ‘impasse’, giving Manchester United optimism for a surprise agreement. Kvaratskhelia wants an affordable release clause in his contract, which Napoli refuses to accede to.

According to speculations, Manchester United will fight with Liverpool to sign the Napoli star.

According to TEAMtalk sources, Liverpool is really interested in Kvaratskhelia. He is being considered by the Reds as they prepare for Mohamed Salah’s possible departure.

Salah, 32, is out of contract at the end of the season, and TEAMtalk sources say he is unlikely to sign with Liverpool, while clubs in the Saudi Pro League are pushing for his signature.

Kvaratskhelia is one of the replacement options being examined. While Liverpool has showed interest, we believe their top three forward targets are presently Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, and Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo.Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: Welcome to Manchester United, Magicial Skills, and Goals 2024.

Man Utd tipped to rival Liverpool for £90m-rated winger as Amorim demands signing of 'special talent'

The trio would all be less expensive than Kvaratskhelia, with Sane perhaps available on a free transfer next summer if he does not sign a new contract with Bayern.

However, if Kvaratskhelia’s contract negotiations with Napoli go, additional clubs are expected to express interest in signing him in 2025, so it will be interesting to see how this story plays out.

Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli in 2022 and has played 100 Serie A games, scoring 30 goals and providing 28 assists.

Meanwhile, sources tell TEAMtalk that Ruben Amorim has already notified the Manchester United board that four Red Devils players ‘don’t interest him’ and that he is eager to trade in January.

Antony is joined by Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Victor Lindelof to form the foursome. Eriksen and Lindelof are out of contract at the end of the season and will be eligible for free transfers if no bids are made in January.

As a result, the club is willing to move both players this winter for approximately £25 million. We understand that Amorim wants to recruit Sporting CP’s Marcus Edwards to replace Antony, who has been linked with a return to former club Tottenham.

In addition to Edwards, sources tell TEAMtalk that Amorim has asked Manchester United to look into signing Sporting CP players Pedro ‘Pote’ Goncavles and Goncalo Inacio.
