Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot had the’miss of the season’ against West Ham as he failed to convert an open goal.

The Red Devils went to the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon hoping to make it two Premier League wins in a row.

However, Erik ten Hag’s team’s day was marred by defeat, losing 2-1 in injury time to Jarrod Bowen’s penalty.

And the atmosphere was not helped by their profligacy in front of goal, as evidenced by full back Dalot’s sensational miss in the early minutes of the game.

The terrible turn of events began shortly after the game’s half-hour mark, when Bruno Fernandes lobbed a superbly weighted pass into the path of Dalot.

One fan commented on X, ‘It’s simpler to score than miss from there’.

Another joked that Dalot was working behind the scenes to hasten the departure of manager Erik ten Hag. They said, ‘Fans aren’t the only ones who want ETH out, by the looks of it.

One fan pointed out that even chronic miss merchants like Timo Werner and Darwin Nunez would have done better.”Even Werner, Jackson, Nunez, and Mbappe would’ve scored this,” the fan wrote.
