SIR JIM RATCLIFFE provided no update on Erik ten Hag’s future after seven hours of negotiations with Manchester United executives in London on Tuesday.

Following a disappointing start to the season, the Red Devils co-owner met with many important club officials in the capital.

He was spotted coming at the London meeting on Tuesday.

However, Ratcliffe provided no update on Erik ten Hag’s future.

Ten Hag oversaw Manchester United’s poorest ever start to a Premier League season.

He was observed coming for the meeting at 9:30 a.m., along with Sir Dave Brailsford and sporting director Dan Ashworth.

Manchester United’s opening seven Premier League games have yielded only eight points, leaving them in 14th place.

Ten Hag’s future is doubtful as he enters the international break after failing to win in five matches across all competitions.

However, Ratcliffe provided no insight into the manager’s position following the discussion.

At 4:45 p.m., the Ineos CEO, 71, exited the auditorium by a rear exit.

He then sped away in a car with blacked-out windows, refusing to stop and answer inquiries.

This puts fans no closer to knowing whether Ten Hag will still be in charge for their next game against Brentford at Old Trafford on October 19.

Ratcliffe has held critical meetings with Manchester United executives.

The meeting was also attended by Ratcliffe’s right-hand man, Sir Dave Brailsford (right).

Dan Ashworth, the sporting director, also attended the showdown negotiations.

He will be entitled to a £17.5 million payoff, one of the largest in Manchester United’s history.

If Ten Hag is fired, he will receive a large severance package after signing a one-year extension in the summer.

But Ratcliffe gave no update on Erik ten Hag's future

Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ten Hag’s assistant and club legend, is the odds-on favourite to take over as interim manager at Manchester United.

Other candidates include former England manager Gareth Southgate, former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, former Chelsea head coach Graham Potter, Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna, and former Liverpool target Ruben Amorim.

After finishing eighth in the Premier League, their lowest ever finish, Manchester United considered replacing Ten Hag in the summer.

However, a 2-1 FA Cup final victory over rivals Manchester City, which added to his 2023 Carabao Cup, temporarily saved Ten Hag from the axe.

Mauricio Pochettino’s successor and Thomas Frank were discussed by club officials on the 54-year-old’s journey to the FA Cup final.

During a July end-of-season appraisal, club executives allegedly interviewed Tuchel and considered his possibilities.

But in the end, United did a surprising U-turn in June, when Brailsford flew to Ibiza for a four-hour meeting at Ten Hag’s home.

However, after a disastrous start to the season, the Dutchman’s career may be finished.

While the unemployed coach searches for a way back into football, Tuchel has once again been suggested as a possible replacement.
