Not only does the major damage of midfielder Rodrid cause Man City concern, but it also generates sufficient impact to cause confusion among many Liverpool supporters. These folks think that Man City will step in to fight The Kop for the target Martin Zubimendi should Rodri be lost.
Rodri lately had trouble with his cruciate knee ligament.
In the 2-2 tie between Man City and Arsenal last weekend, Rodrid had an incident. Man City has not changed their records about him, but journalist David Ornstein of the Athletic newspaper reported that the Spanish player had torn his knee’s cruciate ligament. Rodri will be off till the end of the 2024/25 season if surgery is required to totally fix the issue.
Liverpool supporters soon voiced their worries on social media following the aforesaid news. The rationale is that Man City will probably have to strengthen the midfield given Kevin de Bruyne’s injury-related sidelined state of affairs. Man City also targets Zubimendi as reported, thus Liverpool will find more difficult bringing this Sociedad player to Anfield.
Regarding the same subject, social network user X stated the status: “If Man City replaces injured Rodri with Zubimendi, I will have to take anti-hypertension medicine immediately.”
Another story, from his perspective, was “I have a feeling that Man City’s interest in Zubimendi has dropped dramatically once Rodri got into hot water. For Liverpool, this is hardly a promising indication.
Having the same viewpoint is the explanation for “Let’s see how much Zubimendi’s price has gone up when Man City joined the league.” Man City needs to be ready to offer 200 million pounds on the bargaining table to attract Zubimendi. Liverpool most obviously hates this, in my opinion.
