Gabriel Jesus was unintentionally awarded the Man of the Match title for the North London Derby by Sky Sports.
The forward came on as a late substitute and had little opportunity to make an impact during the match. However, Sky Sports mistakenly displayed his nаme on the graphic announcing the award. In reality, it was his teammate Gabriel Magalhaes who scored the winning header in the second half.
Despite the mix-up, Jesus collected the award after the game. When interviewed by the broadcaster, he expressed his happiness with the victory, stating, “It’s significant. I’m so happy; we know it’s a difficult game, it’s a big derby. Now that we have triumphed, let’s celebrate.”
Alongside William Saliba, Gabriel was solid defensively for Arsenal, allowing only five shots on goal from Tottenham. He also contributed offensively, scoring from a corner taken by Bukayo Saka after finding space in the six-yard box.
Last season, Arsenal scored 16 goals from corners in the Premier League and have already netted two this season, maintaining their record.
With their victory over Brentford, Arsenal climbed to second place in the standings, just two points behind their title rivals, Manchester City, who won 2-1 against Fulham thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland.
