In the second half, Nottingham Forest unexpectedly took the lead in the 72nd minute when Callum Hudson-Odoi fired a precise shot from outside the box, beating Alisson, opening the score 1-0 for the home team. After conceding the goal, Liverpool continued to increase the pressure with attacks from Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, but Nottingham’s defense played very resiliently.

In the final minutes of the match, Virgil van Dijk almost equalized for Liverpool when he made a dangerous header from a corner kick, but the ball went over the crossbar. Despite Liverpool’s best efforts, they could not find an equalizer and accepted a 0-1 defeat.
