Man United supporters yell that the ‘game is gone’ and Lisandro Martinez for sharing a photo of himself with Alexis Mac Allister while representing Argentina just days after Liverpool’s humiliation

Lisandro Martinez, a defender for Manchester United, may not have posted the greatest photo as he arrived for Argentina’s international assignment.

Martinez had a forgettable day on Sunday as United was soundly defeated by bitter rivals Liverpool in the Premier League.

Thanks to goals from Mo Salah and Luis Diaz, the Reds won 3-0, albeit the score could have been higher.

Top players have now reunited with their nations for the international break, and Martinez has offended some United fans on social media with a message.

The 26-year-old uploaded two pictures: one of himself with Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister and the other of him arriving for Argentina duty.

Martinez chose to post a photo with the only Argentina star who plays for Liverpool

And United fans couldn’t believe he had chosen the only Argentinian Liverpool player to pose with.

‘What a goon’, wrote one. ‘They’ve got no idea anymore modern day players.’

‘Is this guy taking the f***ing p***,’ another posted while one said ‘I thought Lisandro was the one that gets it man.’

Another said: ‘now more than ever, I get what they meаn by ‘game’s gone’.

Lisandro Martinez has received criticism for posting this tweet days after Man United's defeat

The general consensus was that it was an error of judgement on behalf of the United man.

Another account posted: ‘just got battered by his club’s biggest rivals so what does ‘The Butcher’ do? Poses for a photo with the ONLY Liverpool Argentinian player.

These footy players aren’t the brightest sometimes.’
