‘On the reverse of the jersey, the 97 emblem encased by the eternal flames sits proudly at the nape of the neck in memory of those children, women and men who were unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster.’

Liverpool added that if the men’s team wins the European competition this season, the kit will include the LFC Foundation patch on the reverse.

The Reds have had a solid start to the Premier League season, winning their first two games under Arne Slot.

Slot had a positive start at Anfield on Sunday, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah scoring in a 2-0 victory over Brentford.

Liverpool won their season opener 2-0 against Ipswich.

Slot’s biggest test yet in the early days of his Liverpool tenure will come on Sunday when the Dutchman takes his side to Old Trafford.
