Alex Moreno has moved to the City Ground on loan

Forest, which has been eager to add a striker this summer to improve their оffensive options, also had a bid for Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez rejected. The man who seems to be coming at the City Ground to lead the queue is Nketiah, 25.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the striker has reached an agreement with the Reds and is nearing completion on a deal with Arsenal. It seems that Forest turned to Nketiah following Feyenoord’s rejection of a £22 million bid for Santiago Gimenez. It is further stated that Forest is “confident” that the Nketiah deal will be “done soon”.

Crystal Palace is still interested in the transaction, therefore the club will be eager to close it. Nketiah was not deployed as a substitute against Wolves and has failed to get regular playing time at the Emirates over the past few seasons. In the striker position, manager Mikel Arteta has chosen Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus above him.

Nketiah had 27 appearances in the Premier League last season, however he only got ten game starts. He nonetheless found the net five times in the league despite playing little. The attacker helped his teammates out twice as the Gunners came in second place behind Manchester City.

This summer, Nketiah also attracted interest from overseas, as Ligue 1 powerhouse Marseille expressed interest. But the French side pulled out of the agreement because they could not come to an agreement with the North London company.

Arteta is rumоured to be about to ink a new, long-term deal with the team. The manager will remain with the Gunners until his current contract expires in 2025.

Alex Moreno, who was brought in by Forest on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, is another addition to the team.
