Grealish narrowly missed out on making Gareth Southgate's final squad for the tournament in Germany

Grealish took the summer off after sadly losing a berth in England’s Gareth Southgate team in Germany for the Euros.

The former Aston Villa player trained with the provisional 33-man squad before the competition, but he was not named on the final 26-man roster.

Still, Grealish will follow his colleagues intently on Berlin’s pitch tomorrow.

The 28-year-old is ensuring he is in top physical shape entering the new Man City campaign after struggling to meet his own high standards the previous season.

Though Pep Guardiola’s club won the Premier League championship, Grealish struggled with form and injuries previous season, therefore making just 10 league starts.

And with his toned frame on show in Portugal’s 26 degree weather, the elite winger is making sure he is in best form for the new campaign.

Although not being chosen for Southgate’s team this summer disappointed, there are certain benefits.

Apart from resting and focussing on his health, the 36-time England international has been able to spend more time with his expecting partner Sasha Attwood.

To announce the great news of their pregnancy, the contented couple posted a moving piece on social media last Sunday.

“Half of me, half of you – beyond blessed” the caption for a picture of Sasha’s expanding baby belly wrote.

Grealish carried on, “Life’s biggest blessing.”

Having grown up together, Grealish and Sasha began dating were young teenagers attending the same Solihull school.

Gareth Southgate has had to rely on other talents to help his team push through to the final because he does not have Grealish in the squad.

And the England manager is expected to begin with the same starting lineup he used to win the semi-final tomorrow.

The entire nation is keen to see if the Three Lions can vanquish the opponents in a major competition—first in line since 1966.

As the first men’s English team to reach a major final on foreign soil, they will nevertheless go out of Germany as record-breakers.
