Carlo Ancelotti recently gave an interview to UEFA, in which he touched on various topics, ranging from Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid to what he did during his summer break. Regarding the latter, Ancelotti stated: “First of all, he will bring his quality as well as his composure, attitude and dedication. 

 He will have to adapt to this team just like everyone else has done. We are very happy that he is here because he has great qualities and, I’m sure, given his personality, he will adapt quickly. Everyone at Real Madrid is very happy that he is here: the fans, the club, the players, his teammates, the coach. We are all very happy that he is here. We are confident that he will do very well.”

Ancelotti’s comments on Atalanta:

“It will be difficult as always because it’s the start of the season. But we are going there with confidence and conviction, while keeping in mind all the challenges. I think Atalanta deserve to be there because they had an incredible Europa League campaign, eliminating top teams like Liverpool. They were able to win those kinds of games easily, even the final. So we have a lot of respect for this team. But we hope to be at our best form.”

Ancelotti on working with and helping young talents like Güler and Endrick:

“I really enjoy that because they learn very quickly. They are attentive to suggestions and instructions. They want to grow and improve. It’s funny that Vinícius, Rodrygo, Bellingham and Camavinga are no longer considered young players. We have a young team with a great future. It will be up to them to play and bond as a team, to unite and build a great team because, in the end, the winner is always the team, the team.”

“We have an excellent relationship. We are friends. Our relationship started at Juventus. Atalanta has been playing regularly in Europe thanks to Gasperini and, since his arrival, they have also been doing very well in Italy. Some excellent and important players have emerged from the team. So he has done an incredible job and he continues to do so.”

On what Ancelotti did during his summer vacation:

“I completely disconnected, but I watched all the [EURO 2024 and Copa América] matches. Football is one of my passions. It’s fun. I was able to disconnect perfectly. I had 40 days of vacation. It was great. I was in beautiful places and I watched football, which I love. It’s what I love the most.”
