Man City will be aiming to win the Premier League for the fifth time in a row in 2024/25, a feat that no other team has ever achieved. They have already established themselves as one of the top teams in competition history, but they are constantly striving to better.
As the previous campaign came to a close, the Cityzens introduced their new attire during the title match. It has ‘Manchester in its fabric’. The sky-blue jersey includes threads of 0161 in the trim, a tribute to the club’s history. It was a dialling code in the area, but if you visit the city now, you will see it written on lampposts on every corner, exemplifying what it means to be a local. Aside from that, the club has chosen a rather simple kit, valuing simplicity over confusion. They will seek to replicate this in their advertising.
Serena Gosling, the club’s director of integrated fan experience and retail & licensing, expressed pride in the idea at the time of the announcement, saying: “By incorporating ‘0161’ in this year’s Home kit – something that resonates so strongly with the City of Manchester – we’re able to connect fans around the world with the club and our city in a different way.”
