On Sunday, Szoboszlai bought Jurgen Klopp’s second summer acquisition for £60 million as he moved from RB Leipzig to Liverpool.

His arrival follows that of Alexis MacAllister, who signed from Brighton and has been sporting the No. 10 jersey Sadio Mane wore before summer departure for Bayern Munich.

After Naby Keita left the club, Szoboszlai received the No. 8 jersey, mostly used by Gerrard.

Because of his performance in Istanbul and commitment to the Merseyside team, many Liverpool players have always looked up to Gerrard.

Another person Szoboszlai respects is the late England midfielder, tattooed with the words, “Talent is a divine blessings, but without incredible will and humility, it is worth nothing,” on his arm.

At last, the 22-year-old is displaying his whole power.

Szoboszlai talks about Gerrard’s tattoo.

Once he arrived at Anfield, the Hungarian international clarified his choice to wear the No. 8 jersey in an interview with LFCTV.

Though not for any specific purpose, he remarked, it’s a large number.

Great players have made extensive use of this number.

Steven Gerrard also tattooed me and made a once-mentioned comment I can hardly recall.

Oyvind Leonhardsen, Stan Collymore, Jamie Redknapp, and Paul Stewart all wore it conspicuously before Emile Heskey took place eighth.

Following a poor 2022–23 campaign, Szoboszlai will try to resurrect Liverpool’s title aspirations by repeating Gerrard’s achievements in a red shirt.
