Dan Bentley, the Wolves goalkeeper, is apparently the target of an offer from Arsenal.
This month, Mail Sport revealed that the Gunners had high hopes for the 31-year-old, who attended their academy.
Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his goalkeeping unit after securing Brentford’s David Raya on a permanent basis.
The Sun claims that Arsenal has offered Bentley £300,000 in hopes of closing a deal.
Wolves, though, is demanding £1 million instead, but a compromise between the two teams seems almost certain.
Jose Sa was Wolves’ first choice last season, and he only made three Premier League appearances.
In seven appearances for Wolves across all competitions, he has three clean sheets. In December 2023, he played 67 minutes against Arsenal.
Bentley went through the Arsenal system, but in 2008, he moved at the age of 15 to play for Southend United.
After that, the goalie spent time at Brentford and Bristol City before coming to Wolves eighteen months ago.
Although Bentley would offer experience to Arsenal, he is unlikely to see much action because Raya and Aaron Ramsdale would be in a higher position than him.
In the meantime, Tommy Setford, an 18-year-old goalkeeper for Ajax, has officially joined Arsenal for less than £1 million.
