Slot ‘immediately’ demands for defender and midfielder, Liverpool dream signing £46-£49 million player

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arne Slot, Liverpool’s new manager, has requested his employers to bolster two crucial positions ‘quickly’.

Following Jurgen Klopp’s resignation, the Reds chose to replace the German with the Dutchman. Slot has joined Liverpool after a good tenure with Feyenoord.

However, the Merseyside club has made no new additions this summer, which has irritated the fans. They’ve even expressed their dissatisfaction on social media.

Now, it appears Slot isn’t too pleased with the Reds’ relaxed approach to transfer dealings, as a recent story covered by La Gazzetta Dello Sport stated that (press image provided below) the Dutch manager has ‘immediately’ demanded his employers to strengthen the backline and midfield following a 1-0 defeat against Preston North End in a behind closed doors friendly.

However, the report made no indication of who Liverpool may attempt to hire to fill these two roles.

According to GdS, Liverpool is also seeking for a new attacker and was initially interested in Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon. However, the transaction did not materialize, and they have now identified Nico Williams as a ‘dream’ possibility.

However, the Spaniard has a release clause of between £46m and £49m, and he also wants a large wage contract. As a result, he is expected to be a highly expensive choice for Liverpool, with the Italian newspaper claiming that Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz would be a more attainable objective.

The Anfield club has been extremely silent this season, but Romano has lately revealed that they have been working behind the scenes to strengthen the squad.
