They can’t do that again, right? With Pep Guardiola in charge, can anyone ever bet against Manchester City?
Following a treble-winning 2022/23 season, the Cityzens surged again in 2023/24, defeating an impressive Arsenal side to capture their fourth Premier League title in a row.
This is a historic unit that hopes to make further history in 2024/25 by winning a fifth title in a row. There is unlikely to be a huge squad makeover, but Guardiola should have a few new faces to hone and grow.
As it stands, here are Manchester City’s squad numbers for the 2024/25 season.

Players lacking squad numbers include James McAtee and Savio.
Man City squad numbers are available for new players.
There are a few low numbers still available at City, with Savio a strong contender for Joao Cancelo’s number seven shirt. The Portugal international spent last season on loan at Barcelona and does not have a future at Manchester.
Raheem Sterling and Stephen Ireland are among the modern-day icons who have worn City’s 7.
Any backup goalkeeper signed in the event of Ederson’s departure will most likely become the club’s number one, while other new signings, which are unlikely to be numerous, will be assigned several numbers in the 20s.

Which numbers can Premier League players wear?
There are two main rules governing Premier League squad numbers. Every number in the squad must be unique, and players cannot wear zero. This isn’t the NFL.
Ederson, for example, is one of numerous Premier League goalkeepers who have deviated from the custom of wearing numbers 1-13.
First-team players typically wear shirt numbers ranging from 1 to 30, though City has a few stars with unusually high numbers. Since joining Guardiola’s squad, Phil Foden and Rico Lewis have worn numbers 47 and 82, respectively.
