Dani Olmo is an attacking midfield player, and RB Leipzig is supposedly “open to business” if no club decides to activate his existing release clause.
Olmo is reportedly available to clubs for €60 million (£50 million) until July 20, when the deal expires. Arsenal is one of the teams that has been linked to the 26-year-old.
According to the most recent report, Chelsea is not thought to be considering a bid for the Spanish player, while Manchester City has “ruled out” making one.
Barcelona is rumored to be exploring a deal for Olmo, having had “direct talks” with Leipzig before the 2024 European Championship began. Olmo played Academy level for the Spanish powerhouses from 2007 to 2014 for seven years before moving to join Dinamo Zagreb at the age of sixteen.
It’s unclear where Arsenal stands in this transfer competition, but Bayern Munich and Manchester United have been identified as two teams to watch out for.
Leipzig is rumored to be open to talks on “similar terms” to Olmo’s present valuation, even after his release clause expires next week.
At the onset of Euro 2024, Olmo spoke with Mundo Deportivo about his future, saying, “I am calm and focused on what is coming, which is the Euro, which is no small thing.” It is obviously encouraging to see your name associated with some of the best teams in Europe and the globe, but my attention is on the Euro, and I hope we can bring home the championship.
“After that, we’ll see. Though, as I say, it doesn’t upset me in the slightest, it’s fantastic to see your name associated with the greats. My attention is on the pitch, and whatever needs to be will be.”
