Walker had just finished a successful season with the Hornets in 2019. Many NBA teams, most notably the Boston Celtics, were interested in Walker when he was chosen to the All-NBA Third Team.

The All-NBA squad selection became a free agency and signed with the Celtics. It’s not surprising that Walker also bought a house nearby during that process. The four-time All-Star used $11.25 million of his personal earnings to pursue a home in Brookline. Two years later, Walker would switch teams from the Celtics to the New York Knicks and finally the Dallas Mavericks. Walker, who is no longer with the Celtics, received an undisclosed amount for the sale of his Massachusetts residence.
