Luis Diaz voted Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month

Luis Diaz has been named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month in April.

The Colombian forward wins the trophy for the first time in 2023-24, after winning a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com.

He emerged as the obvious winner after eight strong performances during the time, with teammates Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo finishing second and third, respectively.

When collecting the award at the AXA Training Centre, the No. 7 stated, “Thank you very lot. I’m overjoyed and delighted to have gotten this honour, which is quite beneficial to us players.

“I’m happy for the support of all the fans, knowing that they have been with me from the very moment I arrived until the last.

“They have always been super-attentive and supportive, not only of me but also of the institution, the team and I am very grateful to God for helping the team in this way.”

Diaz started seven games in April and scored in the Reds’ Premier League tie away to Manchester United.

He added: “I’m contributing to the team, as I’ve always wanted to do, with goals, assists, playing well. The team comes first before the individual.”
