Journalist Abdel Hamad claims Liverpool is “in pole position” to recruit summertime Wolverhampton Wanderer ace Rayan Ait Nouri.

Liverpool players will return for pre-season next week, and new boss Arne Slot will surely be thrilled to be thrown into his own path as the replacement to Jurgen Klopp.

 
Though many of his players are now competing in either Euro 2024 or Copa America, the former Feyenoord manager will have the chance to collaborate with and get to know those who are not.

Though Slot made his AXA training ground debut last week and subsequently gave fans his first interview as the new Liverpool head, there has not shown any indication of significant recruitment occurring.

 

Though so far it has been a slow start, new sporting director Richard Hughes and returning operations director Michael Edwards have been assigned the development and investment into the next chapter at Anfield.

Leny Yoro and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have been connected with a move to the red side of Merseyside, although Liverpool has not committed to any fresh additions since the arrival of Slot.

“Rayan Ait Nouri will quit Wolves.”

Chelsea, City, and Liverpool especially track the left side.

Should Liverpool deal with Rayan Ait Nouri?
Given last season’s dismal attacking danger at times, Liverpool would surely benefit greatly from adding another attacking-minded wide player this summer.
Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah struggled to find the back of the net and were caught fumbling huge chances in front of goal on a number of occasions over the second half of the season.
Although not naturally a winger, Ait Nouri has been found on the wide left for the majority of Wolves’ first season under Gary O’Neil and has flourished in his adapted position so far.

 
Over 33 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old – who is thought to have a £50m price tag – scored two goals, registered one assist and created three big chances, as well as averaging 4.1 ball recoveries, 2.2 tackles, 51.2 touches and 6.3 duels won in total per game, as per SofaScore.
While Ait Nouri isn’t prolific in his goal contributions, he could be a great asset for unlocking the current Liverpool attack by driving the ball forward and creating clear cut opportunities in front of goal for his teammates, as well as offering versatility by providing a back up option at left back too.
With that being said, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool do act upon their interest in Ait Nouri, as his diverse and unique skillset could be the missing piece in getting the attacking threat back on track next season.Give us feedback
