Arsenal had a training camp in Marbella to start their preseason preparations early.
The majority of Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, together with six first-team players—Eddie Nketiah, Ben White, Fabio Vieira, Jurrien Timber, and Reiss Nelson—are now in the Spanish city.
Next week, captain Martin Odegaard is expected to join them, and at some point, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are also expected to join the group.
Edu, the sporting director, plans to travel to Spain and join the team for a portion of the training camp.
With Arteta and his players keen to get going in the lead-up to the new campaign, Arsenal intends to train there until the end of the week on Friday.
Although they will work hard during their sessions in Marbella, players will also get time to unwind and spend with their family.
Arsenal frequently uses this kind of setup for their training camps, as they did when they went to Dubai in the middle of the previous campaign.
Before they start the preseason in earnest next month, Arsenal hopes that the Marbella camp would help the players who were not at the Copa America or European Championship become in peak condition.
The Arsenal will play Manchester United and Liverpool as they embark on a tour of the United States. There will be a third game, and Bournemouth, who are in the USA this summer, might play.
Arsenal’s preseason schedule then concludes with games against Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon at the Emirates Stadium.
