Liverpool might now collect more than £100 million before Arne Slot’s first deal is completed

The international tournaments, combined with Arne Slot’s need to analyse Liverpool’s roster in pre-season, may cause fresh acquisitions to be postponed until beyond June.

By that stage, the Dutchman’s transfer budget may have been increased by £100 million or more, based on future sales and commercial deals. Man Utd, Liverpool 'accept' Real Madrid transfer as Ratcliffe battles to sign 'unique' teenager

James Pearce was borderline provocative in his recent update for Liverpool on The Athletic’s DealSheet. The former Echo writer stated that, while Luis Diaz and Caoimhin Kelleher are still part of Arne Slot’s plans for 2024/25, offers in excess of £50 million and £25 million for the duo ‘may make Liverpool reconsider’.

Assuming Liverpool earned at least £10 million above each indicated price, those two sales, together with the new sponsorship contract with Japan Airlines, would net us a total of potentially more than £100 million.

Liverpool are believed to be interested in signing a new centre-back, but the position is not a priority at this time.

Of again, this might alter fast if other targets become more tempting.

Given Mo Salah’s clear lack of depth, signing a fresh right-sided forward appears to be a promising option.
