Arne Slot talked for the first time this week since being announced as Liverpool’s next head coach.

The Dutchman discussed his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp, the type of game he hopes to implement at Anfield, and, of course, transfers. In an interview uploaded on Liverpool’s website, he said: “Me and Richard [Hughes] are going to work together on transfers, but not just the two of us; there is a large backroom crew involved as well.Is Jamal Musiala leaving Bayern? Release clause, transfer news and Liverpool links - Liverpool Echo“I believe that is the way I have always worked, and it is the ideal method for me to work since I can spend the majority of my time working with the team, and the time that remains will most likely be spent with my family and with Richard discussing how we can strengthen the team. But we already have a really solid squad.

In terms of targets, Lille’s Leny Yoro is being pursued, while Florian Wirtz and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have both been linked with moves to Anfield. Jamal Musiala, Wirtz’s Germany colleague, is the latest name linked with a move to Liverpool after turning down a new contract at Bayern Munich a few months ago.

With that said, the Echo has looked at some of the most recent Liverpool transfer rumours and speculations, with the summer window now open for one week.

According to the ECHO, Musiala is one of football’s most exciting players, which is why Liverpool is rumoured to be interested in signing the Bayern Munich star.

While news that he had refused a new contract provide some hope, Musiala still has two years left on his current contract, making it quite probable that the German giants will want a substantial sum. Signing the 21-year-old would be a statement of ambition from the Reds, but Bayern are unlikely to give up lightly.

New Man City 115 charge prediction surfaces.
Manchester City are likely to face a full hearing over their 115 Financial Fair Play (FFP) violations, as Liverpool awaits a ruling.

According to football finance specialist Kieran Maguire, City’s former financial advisor Stefan Borson was questioned about the likelihood of a settlement. Both men agreed on their remark, with Maguire explaining: “It would certainly save a lot of money on behalf of both sides.”

“It could mean that both parties could claim a victory, but I think in terms of public opinion and the reaction there’s likely to be from both the media, and I suspect from other clubs, it’s not really something that would be palatable to the Premier League nor City.” Borson added: “There are ways in which it could occur within the Premier League rules.

“But I think they missed their window for a settlement. Now that it’s public and now that we’re so close to the hearing, it would be very unlikely for them to find common ground politically to get this settled.”
