After winning 5-1 against Scotland in their first game, the hosts of Euro 2024 triumphed once more on Wednesday, virtually securing their place in the competition’s final stages.

Kai Havertz replaced Leroy Sane as Arsenal’s starting number nine after less than 60 minutes of play.

Germany ultimately prevailed 2-0, thanks to goals from rising Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala and former Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan.

Kai Havertz's shift goes unrewarded despite Germany reaching Euro 2024 knockouts

Havertz’s performance and the way the player’s support waned during the game prompted Darren Bent to react.

The former Premier League striker, who adored Arsenal growing up, claimed that Havertz was “causing so many problems” early in the game and that “they weren’t giving him the service” in an interview with talkSPORT on June 24, at 6:30 p.m.

Havertz scored Germany’s first goal of the Euro 2024 tournament from the penalty spot, but he was unable to add to his tally against a Hungarian team who put up a far stronger figҺt than the Scottish team.
