Amid a striker need ahead of the upcoming season, Arsenal makes a significant Kai Havertz choice

In light of Kai Havertz’s outstanding 2023–24 season, Arsenal is taking a gradual approach to finding a replacement centre forward.

The Gunners had originally intended to recruit Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig as their top summer acquisition, but after the 21-year-old forward signed a new contract with the German team last week, they revised their plans.

Arsenal has reportedly reevaluated their transfer plan in response to this development, with club officials stressing that they will not make a hasty purchаse, according to Football Insider.

Havertz, who moved from Chelsea to Arsenal last summer, was initially used by manager Mikel Arteta as a midfield player. But as the season went on and Arsenal’s chances of winning the title grew, the German international moved into the striker role, where he was very successful. Havertz restored Arteta’s faith in him by netting a string of crucial goals that solidified his position as an important member of the team.

Havertz made 51 games in his first season at the Emirates, starting 43 of them, and chipping in with seven assists and 14 goals. His success has persuaded Arsenal’s recruitment team that they do not need to add a forward right now, especially as Gabriel Jesus can also make a big difference.

Havertz’s skill is also evident on the international scene. On June 14, Germany defeated Scotland 5-1 in a group stage encounter thanks to a penalty kιck.

Eddie Nketiah is still an option for Arsenal’s strike force, but early in the transfer window, he has drawn interest, indicating possible movements.

Arsenal, however, seems to have changed their priorities and is getting ready to make a bid for Victor Osimhen of Napoli. An offer for the Nigerian international is reportedly on the verge of being made, according to Italian publication Area Napoli, however it is anticipated to fall short of his £102 million release clause.

Osimhen’s desire to transfer to the Premier League may provide a challenge to Napoli, who would prefer to deal with PSG and Saudi Pro League teams willing to pay the greater cost. This would place Arsenal as a possible destination.
