Following Granit Xhaka’s performance for Switzerland against Hungary at Euro 2024, Arsenal supporters had a lot to sаy about him. In his debut game for Switzerland at Euro 2024, former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka led his team to a 3-1 victory over Hungary.
The 31-year-old controlled the game’s tempo and launched оffensive manoeuvres from the centre of the park like an orchestrator for the Swiss team.
Xhaka was outstanding for Bayer Leverkusen as they won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal without dropping a game in either competition, demonstrating that he has been able to carry over his excellent domestic play into this competition.
Despite having only recently joined the team in the summer after leaving Arsenal after seven seasons in North London, he was an important member of Xabi Alonso’s squad.
To put it mildly, Xhaka’s career at Arsenal was up and down as he occasionally faced criticism from the media and ran afoul of supporters. But in the end, he left the club on a high note, having won the hearts of the supporters at the Emirates Stadium.
Xhaka played a considerably more advanced role under Mikel Arteta during his final season at Arsenal, making it his most successful season to date. In all competitions, the player returned the manager’s faith with nine goals and seven assists.
Xhaka is still an Arsenal supporter, and a lot of the North London team’s supporters now want him to have greater success this summer on the international front.
