Jurgen Klopp questioned Luis Diaz’s availability during the international break, but the winger joined his Colombia teammates and trained on Tuesday.
Diaz played 114 of the 120 minutes at Old Trafford on Sunday, and Klopp later revealed a groyne issue for the winger, adding, “Lucho felt his groyne.”
Nonetheless, the 27-year-old flew to London the next day to join the rest of Colombia’s squad as they prepare for two friendlies over the break.
According to Colombian site Noticias Caracol, Diaz completed gym recovery work on Monday while the rest of Nestor Lorenzo’s squad participated in an outdoor training session.
But just a day later, Diaz was spotted with the rest of the group, and it appears that the winger is back to normal, despite the injury fears.
It alleviates some of the concerns, but with two friendly against Spain (March 22) and Romania (March 26), Klopp will be hoping that Diaz is properly controlled.
Liverpool’s No. 7 has played nearly 1,000 minutes since January 31, a big figure that will only increase while with Colombia and returning to domestic duty.
Diaz was one of three injury concerns that Klopp mentioned following Sunday’s defeat; Cody Gakpo was another, but he has joined the Netherlands squad, while Darwin Nunez remains on Merseyside.
The No. 9 withdrew from the Uruguay team due to a hamstring injury, but This Is Anfield’s David Lynch reports that the issue will be resolved by the Reds’ return against Brighton on March 31.
