England’s Declan Rice, Conor Gallagher, and Anthony Gordon have been allowed to show off their dog-handling skills in an agility competition akin to Crufts

Three England players, Declan Rice, Conor Gallagher, and Anthony Gordon, have been given free reign ahead of their final warm-up match for Euro 2024 on Friday against Iceland.

Before kickoff, the three demonstrated their prowess in managing dogs in an agility challenge akin to Crufts, which will air on Channel 4’s coverage of the match.

The trio were put through their paces by their new four-legged friends

The players competed in a one-time event called “England vs. Crufts,” hosted by Radzi Chinyanganya, where they were matched with dogs that had the names of some of their England teammates.

Gordon was teamed with Jack Growlish, Rice with Collie Watkins, and Gallagher with Harry Canine.

The players looked to be enjoying themselves while their new four-legged buddies put them through their paces in the video.

The players discussed their own dogs in their remarks prior to the game. Rice mentioned that his dog, “He does know some tricks; when he gets a treat, he comes up with his paws and then dips his head, and seeing him do that, it’s worthy of a treat.”

Gordon said, “My dogs never listen to me, not even when I’m offering them food.” However, they are good and have positive energy.

All three players were confirmed to be in Gareth Southgate's final 26-man squad on Thursday

Meanwhile, Gallagher delivered a harsh evaluation of his dog, first acknowledging that he’s “not the smartest” and then continuing, “He can jump on his back two legs, which is always cute but he’s not the most intelligent.”

The last match before England departs for Euro 2024 in Germany is against Iceland.
