Arsenal could pursue Napoli star Victor Osimhen in a swap deal that would see two of Mikel Arteta’s players leave the Emirates, according to reports.
The Gunners are apparently prioritising the recruitment of a striker this summer, and Osimhen, 25, appears to be one of their main targets following his impressive performances in Italy.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Partenopei have yet to receive any offers for the Nigerian international, and the club is unlikely to negotiate the player’s €130 million (£110.8 million) release clause.
According to the article, Osimhen is interested in moving to the Premier League, and the North Londoners have “recently resurfaced” as a potential destination.
According to the same source, the centre-forward’s expensive price might only be reduced if Arsenal agrees to let two players join Napoli.
These include Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu, both highly regarded at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
The Naples club intended to sign Tomiyasu, 25, during the last January transfer window before the full-back signed a new contract in March until 2026.
Smith Rowe only made three Premier League starts this season, and Arteta is open to offers, with Fulham also interested in the playmaker.
Osimhen, who is also wanted by Chelsea, is reportedly interested in a move to the Emirates and is awaiting an Arsenal offer.
And SunSport said that Arteta’s team is trying to make place at the front by moving Eddie Nketiah, who is wanted by Fulham, Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Everton.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko has also been linked with the Premier League giants ahead of the summer transfer season.
Newcastle star Alexander Isak has also been mentioned as a potential transfer target, but the Magpies are unwilling to let him go.
Arsenal came close to winning their first Premier League title in 20 years this season, but many believe they were let down by a lack of a strong No. 9.
