When Jack Wilshere was nine years old, he briefly attended the Luton Town academy before joining the Arsenal academy.
The teenage superstar made an impression in North London and advanced fast through the academy ranks before being appointed captain of the under-16 squad.
He got his first opportunity when youth coach Steve Bould moved him up to the under-18 squad.
When Wilshere began scoring from midfield, Arsene Wenger became interested.
At sixteen, he played for Arsenal reserves for the first time, and the next season Wenger included him in the senior group.
September 2008 saw his first team debut as he replaced Robin Van Persie against Blackburn Rovers.
Breаking the previous record held by Cesc Fabregas, this made him the youngest debutant at Arsenal.
The teenager spent a season on loan at Bolton Wanderers before being a regular member of the first squad the next.
His performances saw him win a call up to England senior team where he became only the 10th 16-year-old to win a full cap under the guidance of Fabio Capello.
Over his career, Wilshere went on to make 34 appearances for the senior team.
It was in the 2011/12 season that Wilshere suffered a fractured ankle which was to be the start of his dreaded ιnjury-curse.
Wilshere missed the whole season due to the ιnjury, which would continue to afflict him throughout his career.Before returning to the first squad lineup, Wilshere missed 17 months of action.
Sending him on loan to Bournemouth, he was expected to regain the form that had made Wenger believe so much in him.
Prior to suffering a minor fibula fracture in a game against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, he earned consecutive Player of the Month accolades with The Cherries while on loan.
Consequently, he missed the rest of the season.
Wilshere would succeed more in the Arsenal first team following his recovery, but in 2018 he was sold to West Ham.
He left The Hammers at the conclusion of his three-year deal and signed a short-term deal with Bournemouth again.
With little success, he declared his football retirement at the tender age of thirty.
Not too long later, Wilshere was named Arsenal under-18s’ head coach.
With 125 Gunners games under his belt, Wilshere has always been considered a Gunners great despite his ιnjury-plagued stop-start career.

He is still employed with the club as the young team coach.
Following his 2014 divorce from Lauren Neal, with whom he had two children, Wilshere wed Andriani Michael in 2017.
2018 saw the birth of their daughter Siena.
