Arsenal are reluctantly preparing to let Eddie Nketiah leave the club this summer, SunSport can reveal.
The 24-year-old is highly regarded by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, but he is desperate for first-team action.
Now that he has learned that he will slide lower down the pecking order, Nketiah plans to try to find a trade before the season starts.
According to SunSport, Fulham are in pole position and willing to pay up to £30 million for the striker.
However, they are likely to face competition from Crystal Palace and Wolves.
Everton are also interested in a potential year-long loan, which may appeal to Arsenal because they are hesitant to let him go.
The Gunners have been notoriously bad sellers in recent years, but there is hope that if any team wants Nketiah, they may spark a bidding war that will drive his final price down to a reasonable level.
That would also free up funds for Arsenal, who are looking to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko during the summer transfer window.
Sesko had a successful debut season with Leipzig in Germany’s top flight. He concluded the season with 18 goals after scoring in his last seven league games.
The Slovenian is expected to take on a larger challenge this summer. AC Milan is also a fan of Sesko, but they are unlikely to pay his £55 million release clause, which the London club is well capable of meeting.
The Gunners may have to compete with Manchester United and Chelsea for the striker’s services.
Arsenal are also said to be interested in Ivan Toney and Dominic Solanke, and they could offload Nketiah to make room for one of the two.
