England will be without Bukayo Saka, John Stones, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Anthony Gordon for Monday night’s match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Manager Gareth Southgate has stated that all five players will miss the St James’ Park friendly.
After Gordon, Maguire, and Shaw missed training this morning, Southgate was questioned about their various statuses.
He said: “Everything is going fine. We are happy with the development they have achieved.
“None of them will participate tomorrow. Bukayo will most likely face the same situation tomorrow, as will John Stones.
“Everybody else will be involved.”
Southgate, 53, was then asked for more information on Saka and Stones’ circumstances, considering that they both trained on Sunday morning.
The Three Lions manager stated: “John, because he reported a little later, hasn’t worked with us in a number of days, therefore it’s best for him to follow an individual plan for the next few days.
“Bukayo is fine; he’s doing great. However, due to his injury, we’ve decided to rest him tomorrow and expect him to be available on Friday.”
Southgate then stated that Gordon is “likely” to return for Friday’s match against Iceland.
However, he emphasized that Maguire and Shaw’s involvement is far from certain.
Jude Bellingham, the Champions League winner, will not take part in either friendly.
