Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig, is apparently in favour of joining Arsenal this summer, despite other elite teams vying for the Slovenian’s services.
With Kаi Hаvertz being the preferred fоrwаrd fоr the Spаniаrd, Eddie Nketiаh hаving fаllen оut оf fаvоur, аnd Gаbriel Jesus struggling with fоrm аnd heаlth recently, Mikel аrtetа’s teаm is eаger tо bоlster their аssаult in the оff-seаsоn. Seskо, 20, is а tаrget fоr Chelseа аnd Mаnchester United аs well. This seаsоn, he scоred eighteen gоаls in аll cоmpetitiоns.
The Slovenian, according to The Mirror, would rather transfer to the Emirates than to join their competitors, putting the Gunners in first place right now. Sesko spent four years playing for Red Bull Salzburg, Leipzig’s sister club, where he scored 29 goals in 79 games before joining Leipzig last summer.
The Slovenian international, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions in his debut season in Germany, also has 11 goals in 28 appearances for his nation.
His release clause was reportedly worth £43 million, but Sky Germany said that because of his stellar play, it has increased and is now estimated to be worth £64 million.
Given his age and talent, Sesko would be a long-term addition for the Gunners, and over the past month, rumours of a possible transfer to the Emirates have only grown.
Elvis Basanovic, the forward’s agent, attended Arsenal’s matches against Chelsea and United.
In the meantime, Sesko made a passing reference to a prospective move to England in remarks from back in October.
“I’m not considering where I want to go next,” he declared. I don’t have a preferred club to go. It’s critical that I choose wisely based on my experiences. I just want to concentrate on this and wait and see what transpires.
“You know, it’s hard to predict what will happen.” I could be really good or not so good!
“Obviously, it would be great to play in the Premier League, but let’s put today’s goals first.”
Leipzig had a successful season, placing fourth and earning a spot in the Champions League for the next year.
Sesko is scheduled to travel to Euro 2024, where Slovenia will be participating for the first time since 2000.
