Neymar slices teammate’s tyres in response to harmless shoelace joke, with supporters saying ‘that’s a touch far.’

FANS claimed “that’s a bit extreme” after Neymar slashed his teammate’s tyres in response to a shoelace joke.

The shenanigans occurred in Saudi Arabia, as Al-Hilal star Neymar sought retribution against teammate and fellow Brazilian Renan Lodi.

The latter has been playing a number of naughty pranks on Neymar in recent weeks.

Lodi couldn’t resist grabbing some of Neymar’s shoes at Al-Hilal’s training facility.

He then proceeded to get some belly laughs by tying knots in the laces.

However, Neymar retaliated in an unusual manner, as he was seen on tape targeting Lodi’s car with a knife in his own prank.

The forward decided to slash his friend’s tyres with a knife.

It left Lodi stranded following a training exercise, requiring all tyres to be removed and replaced.

Fans thought Neymar responded too angrily to the initial sneaker hoax.

One said: “Weird response.”

Another added: “Prank season is ON.”

Neymar, 32, joined Al-Hilal last summer after spending six years with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian apparently earns around £130 million each year in Saudi Arabia.

However, he has only played five times since rupturing his ACL in October.

Lodi joined Al-Hilal in January after only a few months at Marseille.

The former Nottingham Forest loanee has since played ten games.

And both Neymar and Lodi will be hoping Al-Hilal, who won the Saudi Pro League this season, can end the campaign with another trophy when they face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the King Cup of Champions final tomorrow.
