According to Give Me Sport, signing either player is becoming doubtful, and Pedro Neto is climbing up the wishlist.
In fact, the source indicates that Arsenal will be willing to initiate talks with Wolves about a move for Neto if it appears that he may leave Molineux for £60 million.
Neto exploded into the scene at the start of the season, finishing with nine assists for Gary O’Neil’s Premier League team.
However, he missed two significant chunks of the season due to injury, therefore he did not add to his total of goals and assists after February.
Arsenal have reservations over Wolves winger
Unsurprisingly, Neto’s injury record looks to give Arsenal pause over a prospective deal, with David Ornstein previously indicating that he was dropping down the wishlist at the time.
Perhaps Arteta is less concerned about Neto’s injury history because, at his best, he plays in the same position as Bukayo Saka. This relieves some of the load on both men, especially since they frequently compete for the same position in the side.
He has been dubbed a’special’ talent, so it might be a huge coup if he finally gets some luck with injuries.
And if Wolves need to raise finance in the coming months, perhaps the two teams might reach an agreement on a fee.
