GUNNER GO? Arsenal stars battling for their futures as Mikel Arteta has a busy summer ahead of him to catch Man City– so who will be axed?

For Arsenal, it was another season of so close, so far. The Gunners thought that this would be the year that their 20-year league title drought ended, but Manchester City eventually rallied to become the first side to win the league four times in a row.

This season, in the Premier League, just ten games were lost by Pep Guardiola’s teams and Arsenal.

However, the title will remain at the Etihad for an additional year with two points. Declan Rice strengthened Mikel Arteta’s team last summer, and maybe Arsenal needs only a few more big additions to challenge City’s hegemony. SunSport examines which players should be sold this summer or remain in the squad ahead of a busy transfer season. Regrettably, he was benched in favor of Raya, although he is currently searching for a position as a consistent first choice elsewhere, particularly given his objective of starting goal goals for England in the future. Although talks over the 26-year-old’s valuation are still ongoing, Chelsea and Newcastle are intrigued. He came from Sheffield United in 2021 for a fee of £30 million.

KARL HEIN – STAY

unlikely to replace Ramsdale as the Englishman’s No. 2 should he leave, but the team cannot afford to lose two keepers in a single window.

The 22-year-old, nevertheless, might benefit from a loan transfer soon.

WILLIAM SALIBA – STAY

Right now, Saliba is among the best young defenders in the world, and Arteta ought to center his squad on him. a key cog in the team that allowed just 29 Premier League goals to be scored this season.

last July, signed a new four-year contract that lasted until 2027.

BEN WHITE – STAY: Another solid member of Arteta’s impressive back four. Has the flexibility to play on the right or as a central defender, but has made right-back his own this term. Also extended his stay at the Emirates until 2028 back in March.

GABRIEL – STAY: Was on the outskirts at the start of the campaign but forced his way back in and has forged an almighty partnership with Saliba in the middle of the defence. One of Arteta’s most important signings back in September 2020 for around £23m and is under contract until 2027.

JURRIEN TIMBER – STAY: Due to injuries, we haven’t seen the best of the Dutchman in an Arsenal shirt yet, but he is expected to dominate the Premier League the next year. His skill with the ball makes him a genuine game-changing full-back in Arteta’s eyes.

JAKUB KIWIOR – STAY: The Polish international has had difficulty splitting Saliba and Gabriel, but he has shown promise when needed, particularly during a spell at left defense. An essential member of the squad who offers genuine depth and confidence.

CEDRIC – GO: Getting out of his deal with the club. He spent most of the season warming the bench and never really succeeded in persuading Arteta that he could be counted on.

TAKEHIRO TOMIYASU – STAY: Arteta loves flexibility and dependability, which is why he signed new contracts earlier this year that extend until 2026 with the potential of an additional 12 months. Has the ability to play center back or full back and brings significant presence at set pieces.

OLEKSANDR ZINCHENKO – GO: It is unlikely that Arteta will start many games for Arsenal next season, as Timber is expected to be his first choice at left back. This may be difficult for the Ukrainian to accept. a cherished teammate and a solid £35 million acquisition from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, albeit occasionally he has displayed defensive limitations.

THOMAS PARTEY – GO: ιnjury prone and has looked leggy when finally back from his thigh issues that kept him out from October until March. Interest from Saudi means Arsenal could cash in on the 30-year-old with his contract running out next summer.

MARTIN ODEGAARD – STAY: Captain fantastic. A real leader amongst me𝚗 at such a young age. The 25-year-old is on course to lift the Prem at Arsenal sooner rather than later.

EMILE SMITH ROWE – STAY: Sidelined for most of the term and struggled to make an impact when called upon, but Arteta still sees something in him. A decent squad option but you get the feeling he is running out of time to prove to the club he is a player worth sticking with.

JORGINHO – STAY: Arteta’s experienced general that often has Arsenal playing better with him in the team. Signed a new one-year rolling deal recently, rewarded for his influence on the squad.

FABIO VIEIRA – GO: Perhaps harsh to judge him based on just 16 appearances in all competitions this season but still looks out of place in English football since signing from Porto in June 2022 for £34m. A loan move away could help if Arsenal are struggling to recoup what they paid for him Saliba’s development away from the club a good example of how things can turnaround.

MOHAMED ELNENY – GO: Another player departing with his contract expiring. The right call by both parties. A good servant from the Arsene Wenger days.

KAI HAVERTZ – STAY: Seems a bargain now at £65m from Chelsea following his barnstorming end to the season. Arteta bought him as a midfielder, yet now leads the line as a first-choice No.9. Interesting to see how Arsenal’s pursuit of a striker this summer will impact that.

DECLAN RICE – STAY: The most significant and impactful addition to Arsenal in recent memory. Sаy no more.

BUKAYO SAKA – STAY: An unstoppable star in both country and club music these days. will surely improve even more in the upcoming seasons.

GABRIEL JESUS – STAY: Currently battling for a starting position, but considering how much of an influence he can have on games and his winning mentality inside the team, it would be irresponsible to let him leave. It would require an absurd offer for Arsenal to entertain the idea of trading him, and Jesus is now content in North London.

GABRIEL MARTINELLI – STAY: his form has declined this semester, but Arteta still has a lot of faith in him. Leandro Trossard’s competitiveness will only help him improve.

EDDIE NKETIAH – GO: Right now, Nketiah’s career is at a crossroads, and he must depart in order to make things better. His six-figure salary is the only thing that might turn off potential suitors. West Ham and Crystal Palace have previously expressed interest.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – STAY: can contribute his skills as a starter or off the bench, making him an excellent choice to have while chasing a championship, as seen by his 12 Premier goals this season.
