Following the conclusion of the NBA’s 2023–24 regular season on Sunday, the league made public a list of the players who earned the most views on social media throughout the campaign. The top ten players whose highlights this season have received the most online attention are listed below:
1. 1.9 billiоn views for LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers
Not surprisingly, the player that garnered the most views was possibly the best of all time. James, who is 39 years old, averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds, and shot 41% from three-point range (a career-high), demonstrating that he is not slowing down. Not everything is good news, though, as the Lakers, as the eighth-seeded team, are in the running for a postseason berth.
2. 1.7 billiоn views for Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry
Without a doubt, Curry is the second face of the NBA following James. He plays in one of the largest markets, is the best 3-point shooter of all time, and has excellent handles, so it seems sense that he get a lot of social media views. It also doesn’t hurt that he is the clear favorite to take home the NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year trophy. Here is a list of the best five plays that Curry had in the 2023–24 NBA season.
3. San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama: 1.3 billiоn views
Wemby lived up to the anticipation surrounding his nаme, making him maybe the most touted prоspect in league history. He became the first player in NBA history to achieve 1,500+ points, 250+ blocks, and 100+ steals in a single season, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks on 46.5% shooting in 71 games. Not just in his native France, but also in the United States, Wembanyama is well-known. His breаking the one billiоn views milestone was probably made possible by the widespread attention, enormous buzz, and unusual skill set for someone his size (7 feet 4).
4. 1.2 billiоn views for Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Dončić
There will undoubtedly be a lot of views because Dončić has one of the most entertaining personalities in the NBA and maybe the most complete оffensive game. This year, along with Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dončić is a strong contender for MVP. In terms of points (33.9), assists (9.8), and 3-point shooting (38.2), Luka averaged career-highs.
5. 662 million views for Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks
One of the greatest ball handlers ever, Dončić’s backcourt teammate isn’t afraid to voice his opinions. Irving also has a sizable fan base. This season, the eight-time All-Star averaged 25.6 points and 5.2 assists while playing as Dallas’ No. 2 option thanks to remarkable shooting splits (49.7/41.1/90.5).
The following players complete the top 10: Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks (558 million views), Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics (504 million views), Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns (476 million views), Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets (618 million views), and Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves (569 million views).
