Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, displayed a remarkable feat of talent as the Gunners defeated Manchester United 1-0.  Arsenal fought to a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford despite playing below par.  Even though Mikel Arteta’s team had a somewhat lackluster performance, they managed to secure the three points against Manchester United that they sorely needed to maintain their hopes of winning the Premier League.  The middle of the park was especially bad for the Gunners. Declan Rice found it difficult to stay in the game for an extended amount of time. Arsenal supporters criticized Thomas Partey for his dismal performance. Martin Odegaard, meanwhile, had much less of an impact than he has had this season. 

Despite his continued hard effort, the Norwegian was unable to control his team’s attacking style in the way that supporters of Arsenal had been accustomed to. Odegaard has, after all, been the most inventive player in Europe thus far this season.  Even though he didn’t perform at his best at Old Trafford, the 25-year-old still managed to show off his class with one brilliant bit of cunning that cost Sofyan Amrabat.

The Manchester United player put pressure on the Arsenal player when he had the ball wide on the right in the 55th minute of play. Amrabat drew down on Odegaard, who was facing the touchline and appeared to have nowhere to go.

Nevertheless, Odegaard was able to deceive the Morocco international and send him falling hilariously to the ground with a drop of the shoulder and a swerve of the hips. Another Arsenal аttаck was sparked when Odegaard came away with the ball and sent it to Bukayo Saka in the infield. 

This moment was especially liked by Arsenal fans. “Odegaard humiliated Amrabat,” a North London club supporter exclaimed on X.

With this victory under their belt, Arsenal will undoubtedly still be vying for the Premier League championship when they play Everton in their season-ending match on Sunday.

There are still two games remaining for Manchester City, their rivals for the title. They will play Tuesday night against Tottenham Hotspur. Now, Arsenal will be hoping and praying that their fierce rivals from North London would defeat Manchester City in that match.
