Manchester City are concerned about the fitness of Erling Haaland and Phil Foden ahead of their trip to Brighton on Thursday.
Both players were absent from training on Tuesday morning, however defender John Stones was present.
Haaland missed City’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Chelsea on Saturday at Wembley Stadium due to a muscular issue.
The striker, who leads the Premier League in goals this season, had previously been substituted in City’s Champions League loss to Real Madrid on Tuesday.
“He (Haaland) is injured,” City manager Pep Guardiola told the BBC on Saturday. “I don’t think it’s much, but he’s not available today. I’m not sure [whether he’ll be back for the next game].
Foden’s absence from training is unknown, as the midfielder played the entire match against Chelsea on Saturday.
Stones was substituted for Ruben Dias at halftime in that encounter, but he appeared to be fit following training on Tuesday.
City could be four points behind leaders Arsenal by the time they meet Brighton, while the Gunners host Chelsea on Tuesday.
If Arsenal wins, they would move four points ahead of City, although Guardiola’s team will have two games in hand.
The Spaniard previously criticized his team’s schedule, calling it “unacceptable” during Saturday’s victory against Chelsea.
“It’s unacceptable to let us play today,” he told the BBC. “It is impossible due to the athletes’ health. It is not typical.
“120 minutes, Madrid’s emotions, and how we lose, honestly. I understand how special this country is with the FA Cup, but it’s for the players’ health.”
