Williаm Sаlibа is eаger tо estаblish himself in nоrth Lоndоn аnd is prepаred tо bаttle fоr а spоt in the аrsenаl stаrting lineup. The center back’s long-term future at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta is in question because he has been back in France on multiple loan stints since joining the Gunners three years ago.
Saliba has made it apparent this summer that he wants to return to Arsenal and attempt to push his way into Arteta’s plans, despite that period away and rumors of a possible permanent move to Marseille.
Speaking in Baltimore on the Gunners’ preseason tour of the United States, the 21-year-old declared he has had talks with Arteta and reaffirmed his objectives for the upcoming campaign.
“We had a brief conversation on Monday and plan to have more,” Saliba stated on the team’s official website.
“I want to compete, collaborate with the team, gain as much as I can, and develop further. Returning and beginning pre-season training feels nice.
“I can’t wait to keep working out and competing in the friendly games. Being here with the supporters and my teammates is very significant. It’s crucial that we have some enjoyable practice sessions and games before the season begins.
Saliba joined Arsenal during the tenure of Unai Emery, and since then, the team has undergone a substantial roster revamp in addition to manager changes.
Saliba, who kept a careful watch on the team’s performance when he was in France, has no concerns about making up for his loan periods abroad.
“I watched every Arsenal game while I was on loan because some players weren’t there when I was,” Saliba remarked.
“I watched the games to see how they were played so that it would be simpler to play with people I had never met before when I returned.”
The support of your followers is crucial, and I really like it. I am eager to return the favor to them.
