Shortly after signing a lucrative $190 million contract with the Lakers, Anthony Davis made a significant investment by purchasing a new residence in Los Angeles. The luxurious mansion is located in Bel Air Crest, a prestigious guard-gated community nestled in the mountains between Bel Air and the San Fernando Valley. The purchаse price of the property, as reported by The Real Deal, was an astonishing $31 million, with Davis securing a $20.1 million mortgage.
Bel Air Crest is known for its Mediterranean-style mansions, and its notable residents have included celebrities such as Gordon Ramsay, Kathy Gryphon, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West. Davis’ new estate stands out as the largest and most extravagant in the neighborhood, boasting approximately 20,000 square feet of living space on a sprawling 3.5-acre promontory. The residence offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.
Originally completed in 2010 for the Changs, a local family, the eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half-bathroom home features an International-style design with European influences, reminiscent of a fusion interpretation of the White House. The property underwent significant renovations by its previous owner, Ted Foxman, a retired semiconductor executive-turned-real estate developer. Under the direction of interior designer Lonni Paul, the interiors were extensively redone, incorporating vibrant splashes of color and unique decorative elements.
The interior of the mansion includes a solarium-like atmosphere created by a massive dome atop the double-height vestibule. There are various rooms for entertainment and relaxation, including a music room for guitar jam sessions, a games room with a wet bar, a wine cellar, a movie theater, and several other intimate chambers. The property’s highlight, however, is not the mansion itself but rather the stunning view and the 120-foot-long Olympic-quality pool. Additional features include a poolside cabana, expansive lawns, and a full-size tennis court.
Prior to his new residence, Davis owned a mansion in Westlake Village, which he purchased in 2018 for $7.5 million and sold in 2020 at a loss of one million dollars. As for Ted Foxman, who made a substantial profit on the sale to Davis, he downsized to a $13.8 million mansion in Encino, featuring a basketball court and 13,000 square feet of living space.
With his impressive real estate acquisition, Anthony Davis has not only solidified his presence on the basketball court but also established his luxurious lifestyle in Los Angeles.
