Two important players for Bayern Munich will be absent on Wednesday when they play Arsenal in the second leg of the Champions League in Germany.

Winger Serge Gnabry of Bayern Munich will miss the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal match against Arsenal in Germany next week because of a hamstring ιnjury he suffered during Tuesday’s tҺrilling 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

The ιnjury led the former Arsenal star, who was instrumental in tying the score in the first half, to leave the field in the 70th minute. Although Gnabry is likely to undergo additional testing in Munich, it is anticipated that the German international will miss a period of time that might last three weeks or longer.

“It’s a hamstring ιnjury,” Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel said, expressing concern over Gnabry’s condition. 

The second leg doesn’t appear to be going well. Jan-Christian Dreese, CEO of Bayern Munich, expressed the sentiment and wished Gnabry a quick recovery while praising his outstanding performance in Tuesday’s game.

Even though Gnabry only had ten professional games for Arsenal before leaving the team in 2016, his significant contribution to the team didn’t go unnoticed. The 28-year-old’s goal celebration heightened the energy inside the Emirates Stadium, which was filled exclusively with Arsenal supporters.

It is quite doubtful that Gnabry will play in Wednesday’s encounter at the Allianz Arena if his current hamstring ailment turns out to be a recurrence of the same problem that kept him out of action for 11 games earlier in the season. After fouling Bukayo Saka in the ninth minute, the Canadian international was given a yellow card and banned for one game. Raphael Guerreiro, a Portuguese defender, is anticipated to replace Davies at left back.
