It’s common knowledge that basketball players have a strong affinity for tattoos, and this holds true for NBA players, many of whom sport full sleeves or extensive ink on their bodies. However, there is one basketball superstar who stands out from the crowd in this regard – Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Unlike his peers, Curry has only a few tattoos, each of which holds significant meaning, including the animal designs on his leg. These leg tattoos symbolize each of his children, and interestingly, his wife Ayesha has matching tattoos for most of them.
Both Stephen and Ayesha have chosen to depict a wolf, a butterfly, and a horse or unicorn in geometric forms. These tattoos are located on the side of Stephen’s right calf and Ayesha’s left arm, serving as representations of their respective children. The wolf represents their four-year-old son, Canon W. Jack Curry, while the butterfly symbolizes their seven-year-old daughter, Ryan Carson Curry. Finally, the horse signifies their eldest daughter, Riley Elizabeth Curry.
Ayesha once shared on Instagram that their tattoos hold deep meaning and significance to them, referring to them as symbols of their children. She also explained that Canon will forever be their “young wolf,” Ryan their “butterfly” (which brings her immense joy), and Riley their “horse” (a free-spirited individual they’ve depicted as a unicorn to capture her magical essence).
On Stephen’s right wrist, he has the Hebrew phrase “Love never fails” from Corinthians 13:8 tattooed. Ayesha has the same phrase inked on her left wrist as well.
Moving to his left wrist, Stephen has the initials TCC, which stand for Trust, Commitment, and Care, representing values that are important to him. Additionally, he has the number 30, which corresponds to the jersey number he has worn throughout his 14-year career with the Warriors.
Although Stephen’s bicep tattoos may be small compared to those of other NBA players, their significance is enormous. As a devout believer in God, he has chosen to inscribe a biblical reference on his body. The tattoo features the words “He must become greater, I must become less,” which alludes to John 3:30.
On the ring finger of his left hand, Stephen has the letter ‘A’ tattooed as a tribute to his wife Ayesha. Additionally, on his arm, he has the Hebrew letter ‘קרי,’ which translates to his family name, ‘Curry.’
