Tatum and his regiment performed a 495-pound deadlift:

The 2022–2023 Celtics, under the leadership of Jayson Tatum, had an awful season. Boston tied the series and forced a home Game 7 after winning three straight games, including two in Miami, after going behind 3-0 to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

When they got there, they laid one egg. Miami advanced to the NBA Finals after winning Game 7.

It’s important to remember that Tatum suffered an ankle twist on the first play of the game, rendering him useless for the remainder of it.

However, that didn’t make the outcome any easier for fans of the Celtics to accept.

Boston hopes to come back stronger this season. The team acquired Marcus Smart in exchange for star big man Kristaps Porzingis, who is currently ill but should be ready for the season. They also recently signed guard Jaylen Brown to the biggest contract in NBA history.

Though they aren’t always a good fit, Tatum and Brown have maybe the greatest untapped potential of any NBA duo. One of Tatum’s few weaknesses throughout the years has been his ability to finish near the rim, but this season, especially when the playoffs roll around, his offseason muscular training could pay off.
