LeBron James discusses the reason for his excellent 3-point shooting this season

LeBron James’ performance against the Nets on Sunday demonstrated how much better he has become as a 3-point shooter this season, even though it had been the case for some time.

LeBron performed for a Brooklyn crowd that was almost exclusively antagonistic. With nine 3-pointers in a game, he tied his career high for the most in a single game and had the best shooting percentage of any Laker ever in a game where at least ten threes were attempted.

He was amazing, to put it briefly.

LeBron talked about his 3-point shooting after the game, even if his performance on Sunday just brought his career shooting percentage to a record high. He attributed his progress behind the arc to his ability to be on the floor.

LeBron added, “I’ve been able to be on the floor a lot more on non-game days.” “It feels so much better that my foot. Last year, I didn’t have a lot of time to truly rep because I had to make sure that I couldn’t run about or pound my foot a lot on the ground. I’ve had numerous chances to get down on the ground. It’s also greatly helpful because you probably witness me practicing my craft and game on the floor before the game.

He is shooting 41.6% from three this season, which is by far his greatest percentage ever. He has only previously exceeded 40% in a season once, with Miami in 2012–13. He attempted 3.3 long-range shots per game during that season. That number is up to 5.3 attempts per game this season.

In addition to his impressive 3-point shooting, he is enjoying one of his most productive shooting seasons since moving to Miami. Only his years in Miami rank higher. This year, he has the third-best effective field goal percentage of his career, at 59.5%.

Even though he has struggled with injuries this season, it hasn’t prevented him from playing like it did last year. And following his ιnjury during the previous season, his 3-point percentage did plummet. During the playoffs, his 3-point percentage was 24.2%. And following his comeback, he shot 34.2% from three point range, barring the regular season finale when he went 8–14 from the field.

I hope this is a trend that stays the same. Because it becomes really difficult to gameplan for LeBron in the playoffs if he can be a reliable long-range threаt at this volume. As if it wasn’t challenging enough already.
