Klay Thompson scored 28, Kuminga added 18, The Dubs overwhelmed Miami Heat with 113-92 and continue their home winning streak

The Golden State Warriors are winning more away than at home, which corresponds to the Miami Heat’s home victory.

Klay Thompson returned to the starting lineup and scored 28 points, while Kuminga contributed 18 points as the Warriors rallied in the second half to overcome the Miami Heat 113-92.

Thompson threw 11-20, including 6 accurate long-range throws, and scored the Warriors’ highest point total since February 15.

“Our assist-to-loss ratio is really good,” Thompson said, pointing out that the Warriors had 30 assists while only losing the ball 12 times. “That’s always a great sign, that it’s going to be a great day.”

The Warriors are 18-19 at home and 19-15 away; they are on track to become only the second club in NBA history to finish with a winning percentage greater than 50% despite losing more than they win at home.

“You walk into any court in the NBA and you automatically see blue and yellow everywhere,” said coach Steve Kerr. “Steph has so many fans across the country and so many people cheer for him no matter what, no matter where we are.”

Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins each scored 17 points for Golden State, helping the home club grab a two-point lead after the second quarter and eventually widening it to 22 points in the fourth.

Bam Adebayo scored 24 points for Miami, which played without leading scorer Jimmy Butler, who was absent due to sickness. The Heat also missed Tyler Herro for the 16th straight game, Kevin Love for the 14th, and Duncan Robinson for the fourth straight game.

Haywood Highsmith and Terry Rozier both scored 15 points for the Heat. Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 12 points, while Nikola Jovic had 11. Falling Miami lost 16 of its 18 games in which it scored fewer than 103 points. Miami cut the deficit to 81-87 at the start of the fourth quarter, but Golden State increased the lead to 26-11.

The Golden State Warriors’ 37th victory of the season helped them open a one-game lead over the Houston Rockets in the quest for 10th place in the West – the final spot in the play-in.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat has a 33-39 record, tied with the Philadelphia 76ers for eighth place in the East, but is rated higher owing to their head-to-head record. But they are now 1.5 games behind the sixth-place Indiana Pacers.
