According to HITC Football, several Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Teun Koopmeiners’ position at Atalanta.
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will meet Atalanta in the Europa League in April, in what promises to be an exciting match.
Atalanta do have some prominent players on their roster, like midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.
The Dutch international midfielder has already stated his desire to leave this summer.
Koopmeiners told De Telegraaf that he has already informed Atalanta that he wishes to go, and he is open to joining a Premier League club despite the weather.
“Last year, Napoli expressed concrete interest, and the clubs ultimately negotiated without success. I’ve told Atalanta that I want to move next summer. But there must be something very nice in exchange for Atalanta,” Koopmeiners explained.
“My partner and I are having a wonderful time in Italy. However, I am willing to suffer the weather for some English clubs. I’m hoping there will be some wonderful options to consider. And then I hope Atalanta receives a decent sum for me, because I had a great time there,” he continued.
Teun Koopmeiner’s interest
The 26-year-old is on the radar of several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to HITC Football sources, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur will be represented in Frankfurt on Tuesday to witness Koopmeiners play for the Netherlands against Germany.
The issue here is that, according to De Telegraaf, Koopmeiners missed the final training session before the game and is therefore unlikely to play.
Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Liverpool have all been keeping an eye on Koopmeiners in recent months, but his popularity extends beyond England.
HITC Football can disclose that Juventus and Napoli are both interested in keeping Koopmeiners in Serie A, while Atletico Madrid is also looking into it.
Koopmeiners form this season
Koopmeiners has been a prolific midfielder this season.
The former AZ Alkmaar star has 10 goals and three assists in 25 Serie A games.
Koopmeiners has been in good form in 2024, scoring eight goals in his last ten Atalanta games.
Koopmeiners’ 10 goals last season were impressive, but he has a chance to exceed that total this season.
After three years in Bergamo, Koopmeiners is ready to take the next step in his career, and he has no shortage of admirers heading into the summer.
