Manchester City defender Kyle Walker recently turned to social media to provide an update on his injury, saying he hopes to return to duty soon.
Walker was replaced in the 20th minute against Brazil due to an injury at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, March 23. The English defender appeared to be experiencing difficulty in his hamstring. However, the Three Lions fell 1-0, with Endrick scoring the game’s only goal in the 80th minute.
Kyle Walker took to Instagram after the game to express his disappointment at being replaced early as captain, as well of his injury.
He captioned his social media post:
“It was frustrating to come off injured during last night’s game, especially as captain. A genuinely tremendous honor. Hopefully it’s nothing major, and I’ll be back as soon as possible.”
Walker passed the captain’s armband to Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, who was also substituted in the 67th minute. Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire have also withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their international friendly against Belgium on Tuesday, March 26.
Pep Guardiola will also be hoping for a swift recovery from Walker, as Manchester City face Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Sunday, March 31, in a season-defining game.
